Ingredients:
- 2 cups of warm water
- 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg, beaten (optional for egg wash)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes until yeast is activated.
- Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 10-15 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 8-10 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and then flatten into a disk shape.
- Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each roll.
