Maple Cookies

INGRÉDIENTS
Butter – 1/2 cup (softened)
Brown Sugar – 1/2 cup
Eggs – 1 large
Maple Syrup – 1/4 cup
Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp
All-Purpose Flour – 1 1/2 cups
Baking Powder – 1 tsp
Salt – 1/4 tsp
Maple Sugar (optional, for rolling) – 1/4 cup
PRÉPARATION
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg, then mix in the maple syrup and vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
If using, roll the dough into balls and coat with maple sugar.
Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Flatten each cookie slightly with the bottom of a glass or your fingers.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
