Classic Lasagna Recipe
Ingredients:
• 9 lasagna noodles
• 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
• 1 onion, chopped
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 24 oz marinara sauce
• 15 oz ricotta cheese
• 1 egg
• 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tbsp dried)
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1 tsp dried oregano
• 1 tsp dried basil
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Noodles: Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare Meat Sauce: In a skillet, sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add ground beef or sausage, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Mix Ricotta: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Assemble Lasagna:
• Spread a layer of meat sauce in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
• Layer 3 noodles over the sauce.
• Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
• Sprinkle 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese.
• Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles and the remaining meat sauce on top.
• Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. - Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Cool and Serve: Let it cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
