Filet Mignon with Mushroom Sauce ππ
Ingredients:
2 filet mignon steaks (about 6-8 oz each) π₯©
1 cup mushrooms, sliced π
2 tbsp olive oil π’οΈ
2 tbsp butter π§
1/2 cup beef broth π²
1/4 cup heavy cream π₯
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce πΆ
2 cloves garlic, minced π§
1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped πΏ
Salt and pepper to taste π§
Instructions:
Prepare the Steak:
Take the steaks out of the fridge 30 minutes before cooking to allow them to come to room temperature. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
Cook the Filet Mignon:
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until you reach your desired doneness (medium-rare is about 135Β°F internal temperature).
Remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside to rest.
Prepare the Mushroom Sauce:
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and butter. Add the garlic and mushrooms, sautΓ©ing until the mushrooms are tender and browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes to reduce the sauce slightly.
Finish the Sauce:
Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, letting the sauce thicken slightly.
Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.
Serve:
Return the steaks to the skillet, spooning the mushroom sauce over them. Garnish with fresh chives.
Enjoy!
Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or your favorite side.πβ€οΈ
