Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients 🛒

For the Steak Bites:

1 lb (450g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp unsalted butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
For the Mashed Potatoes:

2 lbs (900g) Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 cup heavy cream, warmed
Salt and black pepper, to taste

Directions 🍴

1. Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook potatoes until fork-tender, about 15 minutes.
Drain the potatoes and mash them until smooth.
Mix in butter, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Keep warm.
2. Cook the Steak Bites:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season steak cubes with salt and black pepper. Sear the steak bites in batches for 2–3 minutes on each side, ensuring a nice crust. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Stir in chili flakes (if using).
Return steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter. Cook for 1–2 minutes.
3. Assemble and Serve:

Serve the steak bites over the mashed potatoes.
Drizzle any remaining garlic butter from the skillet over the dish.
Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy!
