Turtle Chocolate Poke Cake 🍫🐢
Ingredients:
For the Cake:
1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
3 large eggs
1 cup water
½ cup vegetable oil
For the Poke Filling:
1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
½ cup chocolate syrup
For the Topping:
1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade)
½ cup chopped pecans
Additional caramel and chocolate sauce for drizzling
Instructions:
Prepare the Cake:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake according to package instructions (usually 30-35 minutes) or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Poke the Cake:
Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes.
Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a skewer, poke holes all over the top of the cake (about 1 inch apart).
Add the Fillings:
In a medium bowl, mix together the caramel sauce, sweetened condensed milk, and chocolate syrup until well blended.
Pour the filling mixture over the warm cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
Prepare the Topping:
Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake.
Sprinkle the chopped pecans on top and drizzle additional caramel and chocolate sauce for extra flavor.
Serve:
Slice the cake into squares and serve chilled or at room temperature. Enjoy the delightful combination of chocolate, caramel, and nuts in every bite!
