Beef Meatballs in Mushroom Gravy

INGREDIENTS:
Easy Meatballs in a Rich Mushroom Sauce
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons flour
- INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix until well blended.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs evenly on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add sliced mushrooms and diced onion, cooking until soft.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushroom and onion mixture, stirring to incorporate. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, or until fully cooked.
- Adjust the seasoning of the gravy with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
