Ingredients:
- For the Chicken Alfredo Filling:
- 1 lb cooked chicken breast, shredded or cubed (rotisserie chicken works great)
- 1 cup Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the Calzone Dough:
- 1 can (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough if preferred)
- For the Topping:
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- Extra mozzarella cheese (optional for topping)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken Alfredo Filling:
- In a medium bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined and set aside.
- Prepare the Calzone Dough:
- Unroll the pizza dough on a floured surface and roll it out to a ½-inch thickness. Cut the dough into 4 equal squares or circles, depending on the shape you prefer for your calzones.
- Assemble the Calzones:
- Spoon a generous amount of the chicken Alfredo filling onto the center of each dough piece. Be sure to leave about 1-inch of space around the edges.
- Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, and press the edges together to seal. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a tighter seal.
- Air Fry the Calzones:
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with oil to prevent sticking. Place the calzones in the basket, making sure they aren’t touching each other.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the calzones are golden brown and crispy.
- Prepare the Garlic Butter Topping:
- While the calzones are cooking, melt the butter in a small bowl and stir in garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Finish and Serve:
- Once the calzones are done, brush the melted garlic butter mixture over the top of each one. If you like extra cheese, sprinkle a little more mozzarella on top while the calzones are still hot.
- Let them cool slightly before serving.
- Serve with extra Alfredo sauce for dipping if desired.
