Crispy Puff Pastry Twists with Cheese & Bacon

The Ultimate Party Snack or Easy Appetizer!

Flaky, cheesy, golden, and loaded with flavor — these puff pastry twists are a total crowd-pleaser and take just 20–25 minutes to make!


Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • ½ cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mixed)
  • ¼ cup cream cheese (optional for extra richness)
  • ¼ cup cooked bacon, chopped (or turkey/ham slices)
  • 1 small tomato, diced and drained
  • 2 tablespoons green onions or parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg (for brushing)
  • Sesame seeds, sea salt, or Italian herbs (for topping – optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 6–8 rectangles.
  3. In a small bowl, mix:
  • Cheese
  • Cream cheese (if using)
  • Bacon
  • Tomato
  • Green onion
  1. Place a line of filling down the center of each pastry piece.
  2. Fold or twist each one gently:
  • For twists: just fold lengthwise and twist like in the photo.
  • For braids: slice both sides and fold strips over the filling alternately.
  1. Brush tops with beaten egg.
  2. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or herbs if you like.
  3. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
