
Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) breakfast sausage (pork or turkey), cooked and crumbled
6 large eggs
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups milk
1 cup all-purpose flour (or 1½ cups if you want a firmer texture)
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
½ chopped onion (optional)
½ cup shredded mozzarella (optional for extra cheesiness)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook Sausage:
In a skillet, cook the sausage (with onion if using) until browned. Drain excess fat.
Prepare Batter:
In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
Assemble:
In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer the sausage first, then sprinkle cheddar cheese, and pour the egg mixture over everything.
Bake:
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden on top and a knife comes out clean from the center.
Cool Slightly:
Let sit 5–10 minutes before slicing.
