Homemade Lemon Powder

Simple, natural, and very useful in desserts and savory dishes.

Homemade Lemon Powder (100% Natural)

Ingredients

  • 4–6 organic lemons (very important since you’ll use the peel)

Step 1: Wash the lemons

  • Wash lemons very well with water
  • You can soak them 10 minutes in water + a little vinegar, then rinse

Step 2: Peel the lemons

  • Use a peeler or knife
  • Only take the yellow part of the peel
  • Avoid the white part (it’s bitter)

Step 3: Dry the peels

You have 3 options:

Option 1: Air-dry

  • Spread peels on a tray
  • Leave in a dry, airy place for 3–5 days
  • Turn them daily

Option 2: Oven

  • Oven at 50–70°C (120–160°F)
  • Door slightly open
  • Dry for 2–3 hours until completely dry and crisp

Option 3: Dehydrator

  • 45–50°C for 6–8 hours

👉 Peels must be fully dry (they should snap, not bend)

Step 4: Grind

  • Put dried peels in:
    • Coffee grinder, or
    • Blender, or
    • Mortar and pestle
  • Grind until you get a fine powder

Step 5: Store

  • Store in a glass jar
  • Keep in a cool, dry place
  • Lasts 6–12 months
