🥟 Baked Stuffed Pastry (Meat & Cheese)

🧾 Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 300 g ground beef (or chicken)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Optional: a little garlic or parsley
  • ½ cup tomato sauce or grated tomato

For the pastry:

  • 1 pack ready-made pastry dough
    (phyllo dough or thin pastry sheets work best)
  • 200 g mozzarella cheese (or any melting cheese)

For brushing:

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon milk or oil

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the filling

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook until soft.
  3. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  4. Add salt, pepper, paprika, and tomato sauce.
  5. Cook 5–7 minutes, then let it cool.

2️⃣ Assemble

  1. Cut pastry into squares.
  2. Place a spoon of meat filling in the center.
  3. Add a piece of cheese on top.
  4. Fold the pastry into a closed square (seal well).

3️⃣ Bake

  1. Place pastries in a greased baking dish.
  2. Brush the tops with egg yolk + milk.
  3. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes
    until golden and crispy.

✨ Tips

  • Let them rest 5 minutes before serving
  • Serve with yogurt sauce or salad
  • Can be frozen before baking
