🍫 Grandma’s Classic No-Bake Chocolate Oat Cookies

🧾 Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115 g) butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy is best)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups quick oats (not steel-cut)
- Pinch of salt (optional but recommended)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Boil the base
In a medium saucepan, add butter, sugar, milk, and cocoa powder.
Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. - Time it carefully
Once it starts boiling, let it boil exactly 1 minute — no more, no less.
(This step is the secret!) - Remove from heat
Take the pot off the stove and immediately stir in:
- Peanut butter
- Vanilla extract
- Salt (if using)
- Add the oats
Mix in the oats until fully coated. - Drop and set
Spoon small mounds onto parchment paper or a tray.
Let them cool at room temperature for 20–30 minutes until firm.
