- 3 Β½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm milk (not hot)
- 2 ΒΌ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp melted butter (or oil)
- 1 egg

- Activate yeast
In a bowl, mix warm milk + sugar + yeast.
Let it sit 5β10 minutes until foamy. - Mix dough
Add egg, melted butter, salt, and flour gradually.
Mix until a soft dough forms. - Knead
Knead for 8β10 minutes (by hand or mixer) until smooth and elastic. - First rise
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour or until doubled. - Shape
Punch down dough, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased loaf pan. - Second rise
Cover and let rise 30β40 minutes until puffy. - Bake
Bake at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for 30β35 minutes until golden. - Finish
Brush top with butter while warm for extra softness.
