Classic Sloppy Joes Made at Home
1.5 to 2 pounds of ground beef
1 diced green bell pepper
½ a small onion, cut into small pieces
One cup of ketchup
½ cup of sauce made from tomatoes
1 to 2 tablespoons of yellow mustard
2 tablespoons of brown sugar (more or less to taste)
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of chili powder
Add salt and pepper to taste.

How to do it
- Prepare the beef
In a big skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. As it cooks, break it up. If you need to, get rid of extra grease.
- Put in some vegetables
Put the diced onion and bell pepper in the pan. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, or until soft.
- Add sauce
Mix in the ketchup, tomato sauce, mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Mix well, then turn the heat down to low.
- Let it simmer
Let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes without a lid, stirring it every so often, until it gets thick and rich. Add a little water if it gets too thick.
- Serve
Put the meat mixture on toasted hamburger buns and serve right away.
