Homemade Lemon Powder (100% Natural)
Ingredients
- 4–6 organic lemons (very important since you’ll use the peel)
Step 1: Wash the lemons
- Wash lemons very well with water
- You can soak them 10 minutes in water + a little vinegar, then rinse
Step 2: Peel the lemons
- Use a peeler or knife
- Only take the yellow part of the peel
- Avoid the white part (it’s bitter)
Step 3: Dry the peels
You have 3 options:
Option 1: Air-dry
- Spread peels on a tray
- Leave in a dry, airy place for 3–5 days
- Turn them daily
Option 2: Oven
- Oven at 50–70°C (120–160°F)
- Door slightly open
- Dry for 2–3 hours until completely dry and crisp
Option 3: Dehydrator
- 45–50°C for 6–8 hours
👉 Peels must be fully dry (they should snap, not bend)
Step 4: Grind
- Put dried peels in:
- Coffee grinder, or
- Blender, or
- Mortar and pestle
- Grind until you get a fine powder
Step 5: Store
- Store in a glass jar
- Keep in a cool, dry place
- Lasts 6–12 months
