🥟 Baked Stuffed Pastry (Meat & Cheese)
🧾 Ingredients
For the filling:
- 300 g ground beef (or chicken)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Optional: a little garlic or parsley
- ½ cup tomato sauce or grated tomato
For the pastry:
- 1 pack ready-made pastry dough
(phyllo dough or thin pastry sheets work best) - 200 g mozzarella cheese (or any melting cheese)
For brushing:
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon milk or oil
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the filling
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add chopped onion and cook until soft.
- Add ground meat and cook until browned.
- Add salt, pepper, paprika, and tomato sauce.
- Cook 5–7 minutes, then let it cool.
2️⃣ Assemble
- Cut pastry into squares.
- Place a spoon of meat filling in the center.
- Add a piece of cheese on top.
- Fold the pastry into a closed square (seal well).
3️⃣ Bake
- Place pastries in a greased baking dish.
- Brush the tops with egg yolk + milk.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes
until golden and crispy.
✨ Tips
- Let them rest 5 minutes before serving
- Serve with yogurt sauce or salad
- Can be frozen before baking
