Meatloaf layer:
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 cup bread crumbs

- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Topping (optional but recommended):
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
- Chopped parsley (optional)

- Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- Cook macaroni in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Press the meat mixture evenly into a greased baking dish (9Γ13 inch).
- Bake meatloaf layer for 20 minutes.
- While it bakes, mix the cooked macaroni with butter, milk, salt, pepper, and shredded cheese.
- Remove dish from oven and spread mac & cheese over the meatloaf layer.
- Sprinkle extra cheese on top.
- Return to oven and bake 15β20 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
