Ultimate Cheesy Sausage Muffins

Ingredients:


1 lb ground sausage
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)

Directions:


Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line it with muffin liners.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, sour cream, melted butter, and eggs until well combined.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and chopped green onions (if using).
Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the muffins cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm.
