Creamy Chicken Marsala Pasta

Ingredients:
1 lb pasta (shells recommended)
1 lb chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
1 cup Marsala wine
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 shallots, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:

Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.
Add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add shallots and cook for 2 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
Add mushrooms and cook until browned.
Pour in Marsala wine, scraping the bottom of the pan. Cook until reduced by half.
Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer.
Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, cooking until sauce thickens.
Return chicken to the skillet and mix with the sauce.
Add cooked pasta and toss to combine.
