How to Clean a Burnt Iron (Easy Hack)
🧾 Ingredients:
- 1 lemon 🍋
- Toothpaste (white, not gel)
- Soft cloth or sponge
- Paper towel
Method:
- Cut the lemon in half
Take one half and use it as your natural scrub. - Apply toothpaste on the lemon
Squeeze a good amount of toothpaste onto the cut side of the lemon. - Make sure the iron is OFF and slightly warm (not hot!)
This helps loosen the burnt residue. - Scrub the iron surface
Rub the lemon + toothpaste mixture directly on the burnt soleplate.
👉 Focus on dark, burnt areas. - Let it sit for 5 minutes
This allows the acidity of the lemon and cleaning power of toothpaste to break down stains. - Wipe clean
Use a damp cloth or paper towel to remove all residue. - Dry completely
Make sure the iron is clean and dry before using again.
Pro Tips:
- Use a cotton swab to clean steam holes
- Avoid metal scrubbers (they scratch the iron)
- Repeat if stains are very stubborn
Result: Your iron will look shiny and work smoothly again!
