🍵 Homemade Ginger Tea (From Scratch)
A warm, soothing drink made with fresh ingredients. This tea is perfect for relaxing, boosting immunity, and helping digestion.
🧾 Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 fresh lemon (sliced or juiced) 🍋
- 1 inch fresh ginger root (peeled and sliced or grated)
- 1 tablespoon honey 🍯
🔪 Preparation:
- Prepare the ginger
- Wash the ginger root well
- Peel it using a spoon or knife
- Slice thinly or grate it (grating gives stronger flavor)
- Prepare the lemon
- Wash thoroughly
- Slice into thin rounds or squeeze the juice (remove seeds)
🔥 Cooking Method:
- Boil the water
- Pour 2 cups of water into a small pot
- Bring it to a gentle boil
- Add the ginger
- Add the sliced or grated ginger to the boiling water
- Reduce heat and let it simmer for 10–15 minutes
- The longer it simmers, the stronger and spicier the tea becomes
- Add lemon
- Turn off the heat
- Add lemon slices or juice
- Let it steep for 2–3 minutes
- Strain the tea
- Pour through a strainer into a cup
- This removes ginger pieces and lemon pulp
- Sweeten
- Add 1 tablespoon of honey
- Stir well until fully dissolved
